Diatonic C Flute Choroi Fingering - A= 440 Hz
maple wood, A= 440 Hz, Choroi fingering, range: c’’-c’’’
The classic, school flute model with diatonic scale in c-major. Contrary to recorders, Choroi flutes have a mild, easy to articulate tone that needs a minimum of pressure and allows relaxed, flowing play. This quality is especially noticeable when playing in large groups. The unique shape of the flute makes playing half tones i.e. half-closing the finger holes, easy. Contrary to the C flute, which uses German fingering, this flute has an additional hole for the little finger on the left hand. This means the remaining upper holes can be drilled smaller which causes the normally loud, high tones to become softer and better pitched. As the flute needs to be oiled regularly, we recommend ordering flute oil with the flute. A spatial and easily articulated tone is characteristic of all Choroi flutes. They have more of a singing character rather than an instrumental one. This is due to free exhalation during play. The positioning of the mouth and lips determine the tone. The fingers gently touch the specially formed holes and by half covering them create halftones. The living quality of the materials used in Choroi instruments is of utmost importance. That is why special attention is paid not only to the design and construction, but also to the material being used. The instruments are made of carefully matured tonewood with the highest quality craftsmanship. They are treated with natural varnish or natural oils and polished by hand. Because of the way Choroi instruments are built and the use of materials, they enable players to experience matter and space in a new musical way. Choroi instruments are suitable for both young and old, beginners and experts, music lovers and professional musicians.
